Welcome to South Warnborough

We are a small rural village and civic parish of some 230+ households with a total population of circa 600 people.  The village is situated in farmland that forms a beautiful part of the North East Hampshire Downs and is adjacent to the Greywell Fens SSSI.

South Warnborough is roughly three miles (4.8km) South of the village of Odiham and six miles (9.7km) North of the town of Alton on the B3349. Other neighbouring settlements include the villages of Long Sutton & Well to the East and Upton Grey and Greywell to the West. The surrounding undulating countryside is unspoilt and the village contains old brick and half-timbered cottages, many under thatch. 

The main part of the village itself sits in a designated Conservation Area.  The local church, St Andrews, dating back in part to the 12th century provides a spiritual and community focus for the Parish, which it has done since the times of the Domesday Book, (in which the village is recorded as “Wergeborne).  The attraction points within the village include a recreation ground, a village hall known as The Ridley Hall which hosts village social occasions and events, a lively village pub, The Poacher and a successful village shop with Post Office services.
